SAP HANA : How To Set/Unset License

SET SYSTEM LICENSE

SET SYSTEM LICENSE:

  • This statement installs a license key to the database instance.
  • The license key (license key=””) is to be copied and pasted from the license key file. The system privilege LICENSE ADMIN is required to execute this command.

Syntax: SET SYSTEM LICENSE <license_key>

Example:

  1. Run the below statement to set the license for SAP HANA system.

Ans:
SET SYSTEM LICENSE ‘—– Begin SAP License —–
SAPSYSTEM=HD1
HARDWARE-KEY=K4154485923
INSTNO=0110008732
BEGIN=20110809
EXPIRATION=20151231
LKEY=…

We cannot use this for actual system as it doesn’t have LKEY value.
UNSET SYSTEM LICENSE ALL

UNSET SYSTEM LICENSE ALL:

  • This statement deletes all currently installed license keys.
  • After using this, the SAP HANA database will be locked down immediately and will require a new valid license key before it can be used further.
  • The system privilege LICENSE ADMIN is required to execute this command.
 Running this command immediately locks down our SAP HANA database. We will require a new license key before we can use the system further.

Syntax: UNSET SYSTEM LICENSE ALL Name

Example:

  1. Run the below statement to unset all the licenses in SAP HANA system.

Ans: UNSET SYSTEM LICENSE ALL
